January 8, 1933 –  October 20, 2014  Funeral Services for Betty Rose (Gheen) Byrom, 81, will be held Thursday, October 23, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Collinsville, Texas with Rev. Keith Byrom and Rev. Jerry Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Belew Cemetery in Aubrey, Texas. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Meador Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home, Whitesboro, Texas. She passed away Monday, October 20, 2014 at her home with her family by her side.She was born to John Forest and Rosie Elizabeth (George) Gheen on January 8, 1933 in Gribble Springs, Texas. She married Thomas Weldon Byrom October 4, 1952 in Denton, Texas.
She was a member of Crossroads Church of Collinsville, Texas and spent all her adult life as a career mom, dedicating her life to her children. She was a devout Christian serving the Lord faithfully. She loved to serve the church, her family and others. She enjoyed playing the piano and playing “42”. She was a dedicated wife for over 60 years and was also a devoted sports fan for all her children and grandchildren. She loved Southern Gospel Music, enjoyed traveling and music cruises. A very vibrant lady!
She is survived by 5 sons; Thomas W. Byrom, Jr. and wife, Rita of Collinsville, John Byrom and wife, Betty of Collinsville, Phillip Byrom of Calera, Oklahoma, Mark Byrom and wife, Pam of Whitesboro, and Keith Byrom and wife, Donita of Collinsville; grandchildren, Trey Byrom, Jennifer Husbands and husband, Chad, Amy Byrom, Stacy Byrom, Corey Byrom, Phillip Alexander Byrom, Stacy Escamilla, Jeff & and wife, Jacey Matlock, David Byrom, Daniel Byrom, Josh Byrom and Aaliyah Byrom; great-grandchildren, Sophia and Logan Husbands, Maegan and Dylan Escamilla and Brayden and Jadee Matlock; sister-in-law, Betty Gheen of Denton.
Pallbearers are grandsons: Alex Byrom, Josh Byrom, Daniel Byrom, David Byrom, Corey Byrom, Jeff Matlock, Trey Byrom and Chad Husbands.
She was preceded in death by husband, Tom Byrom; 4 brothers, Vic Gheen, Cleo Gheen, John Gheen and Dwight Gheen.
