January 5, 1931 –  December 19, 2017  DIXIE– Funeral Services for Betty Darrell Prestage, 86, will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 21st at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Terry Barnett officiating. Interment will follow at Nelson Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.Betty passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at her residence.
She was born on January 5, 1931 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Raymond and Ola Mae (Reppond) Kirkpatrick. She married Ray Prestage on September 17, 1948 at Custer City in Cooke County, Texas. Betty retired from Weber Aircraft in Gainesville. She had also worked as a seamstress in Pilot Point. Betty loved kids, animals, traveling, and was a loving wife and mother. She was a member of the Dixie Southern Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Ray Prestage of Dixie; two daughters, Lou Ann Patterson of Dixie, and Polly Pearce and husband Don of Keller; seven grandchildren, Terry Ray Cason of Thackerville, Oklahoma, Darrell Cason of Dixie, Layton Prestage of Sherman, Amanda Prestage of Whitesboro, Matthew Pearce of Houston, Ross Pearce of Dallas, and Polly Anna Achorn of Whitesboro; eight great-grandchildren, Bailey Darnell, Bryce Darnell, Paige Cason, Cooper Cason, Barrett Achorn, Seth Prestage, Kodi Prestage, and Gavin Prestage.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Pat Prestage; and a twin sister, Sue Carol Mears.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
