March 24, 1937 –  August 27, 2009  Born on March 24, 1937, in Gordonville, Texas, Benny went to be with the Lord on August 27, 2009. He was the son of Ola Sue and Ollie Jay Denton of Gordonville, Texas. Benny married Shirley Christopher on September 15, 1956. He spent the first 8 years of his career at Temco Aircraft and General Telephone before working for IBM for 14 years. Beginning in 1976 Benny enjoyed the trucking business and building over 100 homes in Collinsville with his brother, Norman. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #536 in Gordonville, Texas. A lover of children, of his work, of his wife, Shirley of 53 years, of his children and grandchildren and a generous man to many, we will miss his laughter, his constant aggravating, his generosity and his presence is our lives. He is survived by his wife, Shirley of Collinsville, his son Terry Denton of Collinsville, his daughter and son-in-law, Patti and John Sebastian of Dallas, Texas, his 7 grandchildren, Jay and wife, Samantha Denton of Providence, Texas, Emily Davis, Benjamin Davis, Jason Sebastian and Kristen Sebastian (all college students), Amy and Sterling Denton of Decatur, Texas and 3 great-grandchildren Bliss, Dylan and Luke, his brother and sister-in law, Norman and Rebecca Denton of Collinsville, Texas and his beloved nieces and nephews. He is in preceded in death by his parents Ollie Jay and Ola Sue Denton and brother, Dorman Denton. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Collinsville Childrenâ??s Park in Memory of Benny D. Denton, P. O. Box 649, Collinsville, Texas 76233. Family visitation will be at Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro, Texas from 6-8 on Saturday, August 29 and the funeral service on Sunday, August 30 at 2:00 p.m. also at Meador Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Collinsville Cemetery.
