December 2, 1933 –  October 11, 2016  Gainesville resident, Barbara Ann Hardin, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Pecan Tree Health and Rehab Center. She was born on December 2, 1933 in Sherman, Texas, to Robert Oscar and Margie Bell (Starnes) Neal. Barbara worked for many years at Joe Walter Lumber Company and was later employed by Gainesville Memorial Hospital/North Texas Medical Center. She was a charter member of Temple Baptist Church. Barbara loved her family and enjoyed reading and traveling.
Funeral services are set for 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 13th at Temple Baptist Church with Dr. Eddie Chennault and Rev. Brandon Neal officiating Interment will follow in New Rest Haven Cemetery under the direction of Meador Funeral Home, Gainesville. David Hardin, Trey Hardin, Alan Webster, Cory Murphey, Brandy Hardin and Jeana Hardin will serve as pallbearers. There will be a visitation from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. before the service at the church.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Charlene Hardin of Pottsboro and Randy and Kathy Hardin of Gainesville; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Judy Neal of Lake Kiowa; seven grandchildren, Amy Webster of Pottsboro, David Hardin of Sulphur, OK, Brandy Hardin of McKinney, Jeana Hardin of Gainesville, Trey Hardin of Gainesville, Kaitlynn Hardin of Gainesville and Cory Murphey of Gainesville and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Dorothy Jirasek and Sandra Day and a grandson, Chad William Murphey.
