April 2, 1922 –  February 22, 2014  SADLER – Funeral Services for Archie Allman Wolsey, 91, will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Lanny Jobe and Mickey Jobe officiating. Interment will follow at Sadler Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.Archie passed away on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014 at his residence in Sadler.
He was born on April 2, 1922 in Tioga, Texas to Minor Jay Wolsey and Martha Adeline (Carney) Wolsey. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII and married Grace Coolidge Cooper on Dec. 31, 1944 in Salina, Kansas. Archie worked in oilfield construction and was also a farmer. He was a talented guitarist and singer and loved horses. He was a member of 1st Baptist Church in Gordonville.
Survivors include 2 daughters, DeLauna Jobe and husband, Woody of Ringwood, Oklahoma, and Denise O’Neal of Sadler; a son, Derron Woolsey and wife, Leslie of Krugerville; a sister, Lorene Dinkins of Sherman; 4 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Grace Wolsey; son, Dana Jay Wolsey; 3 brothers; and 3 sisters.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Cox, Michael Oakley, David Woolsey, Rogers Woolsey, Doug Farrer and Logan Jobe.
