January 31, 1908 –  January 21, 2006  WHITESBORO- Aquilla â??Speckâ? , â??A.Q.â? Maloney, age 97, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2006 at his home in Whitesboro.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at First United Methodist Church Whitesboro, with Dr. Roy Spore and Glyn Rives officiating. Interment will follow with Masonic Graveside Rites at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro, directed by Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at the Funeral Home.

Speck was born January 31, 1908 in Queen City, Cass County, Texas, the son of James and Delia (Durham) Maloney. On March 8, 1927 he married Lallie May (Reeden) in Paris, Texas. He is survived by one child Bernice Maloney of Whitesboro. Speck started employment with Wagoner Ranch and Phillips 66 in 1926 and continued there for 46 years.

Lallie and Speck lived in Grayback, TX, Oklahoma City, OK, and then moved to Whitesboro in 1952. He was a respected member of the community, a 50 year member of the First United Methodist Church and the Fishermen Sunday School Class, He as a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge #263 AF & AM and was a 32nd Degree Mason.

Speck loved his hobbies of fishing, hunting, traveling and raising cattle. He was an avid gardener right to the summer of 2005. He was a friend to all who knew him and will be remembered and missed by many.

Pallbearers will be members of the Masonic lodge; Ken Biggers, Jerry Johnson, Carl Garrison, Carl Thorell, Allan Harshbarger, and Melvin Eddings.

Honorary Pallbearers will be; Wayman Chilcut, Steve Braun, John Balkum, Allen Engel, Frank Parker, Pete Meeks, Jack Clark and Charlie Pratt.

Bernice and Family will receive visitors at 712 N. Union Monday, January 23, 2006 from 6-8 P.M. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to First United Methodist Church of Whitesboro.
