May 7, 1985 –  January 12, 2018  GAINESVILLE- Funeral services for Angela Faye Popejoy, 32, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Meador Funeral Home, 1204 E. California St., Gainesville, TX, officiated by Steve Ledford and Dr. Christopher Mullennix. Interment to follow at New Hope Cemetery in Mountain Springs. A family visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at the funeral home. Angela passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018 surrounded by family and friends. About nine years ago Angie moved to River Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center in Gainesville where the staff welcomed her with open arms. She was loved by everyone and she truly loved her River Valley family.
She was born on May 7, 1985 in Gainesville, Texas to Dennis and Sheri (Morris) Popejoy. She spent many summers with her grandparents in Albuquerque, NM where she worked for her grandpa at Griff’s Hamburgers. Angela was a junior high school cheerleader. She was also an incredible soccer player, playing on select and high school teams. In the beginning she had to play on boys’ teams but, because of her, they finally formed girls’ teams. Angela was a reporter for the Leopard Tale her senior year. She graduated from Gainesville High School in 2003.
She is survived by her father, Dennis Popejoy of Gainesville; grandmother, Norma Alexander of Gainesville; grandparents, Tom and Barbara Morris of Albuquerque, NM; four aunts, Teri Williams, of Albuquerque, NM, Debbie Brooks and husband, Lonnie of Gainesville, Shirley Mullennix of Gainesville and Rebecca Morris of Albuquerque, NM; Uncle, Thomas Morris and wife, Noel of Albuquerque, NM and a host of extended family and friends.
Angela was preceded in death by her mother, Sheri Faye Popejoy; grandmother, Sandy Morris and grandfather, Jimmy Popejoy.
Pallbearers will be Ken Eddowes, Nathan Eddowes, Stephen Brooks, Shawn Brooks, Tyler Brooks, Jonathan Mullennix, Josh Swaney, Caleb Swaney, Rick Swaney and Bill Dugger.
