November 17, 1930 –  April 4, 2012  COLLINSVILLE รข?? Graveside services for Alma Hammons Murrell, 81, will be held Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the Tyson Cemetery in Pilot Point with Pastor Bill Black officiating. Service arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro, Texas. Family visitation will be Friday evening from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home.Alma passed away at her residence in Collinsville, Texas on April 4, 2012.
Alma Lynda Murrell was born to Richard and Johnnie (Robinson) Hammons on November 17, 1930 in Pilot Point, Texas. She married Marvin Murrell in Denton County, Texas in 1967. She worked for Victor Equipment for 30 years, was employed at the Denton State School for 10 years, and also worked at the Countryside Nursing Home in Pilot Point for 10 years. She was a hard worker her entire life. She loved her children. She was the mother of two, but raised about 20 children in her lifetime. She would always help anyone. She loved working with people, especially at the Denton State School and at the Countryside Nursing Home as well.
She is survived by sons Eddie and Sharon Draper of Denton; Charles and Barbara Draper of Denton; and grandchildren: Julie Draper, Sky Draper, and Christopher Draper; brother, James Hammons of Pilot Point; and sister, Jean Hammons of Collinsville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Johnnie Hammons; her husband, Marvin Murrell; sister, June Payne; and grandson, Jeffrey Draper.
