December 16, 1933 –  January 16, 2013  SHERMAN ? Graveside services for Alene Harris, 79, will be held Friday, January 18, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at the Sadler Cemetery with Rev. Rick Carney officiating. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro, Texas. She passed away on January 16, 2013 in Sherman, Texas.Alice Alene Harris was born on December 16, 1933, in Sherman, Texas, to P. S. and Clementine ?Tiny? (Ragsdale) Conner. She married Doyle C. Harris on April 30, 1950. They were married until his passing on November 21, 2001. Alene was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Sadler Baptist Church. She enjoyed volunteering for ?Your Neighbor?s House? in Whitesboro, Texas. She was a former member of the Whitesboro Library Board. She enjoyed gardening and loved to travel. She was retired from Texas Instruments after 30 years of employment. Years ago, she owned and operated a women?s and children?s clothing store in Whitesboro called the ?Peanut Patch?.
She is survived by life-long friend, Donna Tamplen of Sherman, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents, P. S. and Tiny Conner; and her husband, Doyle C. Harris.
