October 8, 1916 –  September 28, 2006  Services for Albert Linvil Welch, 89, of Collinsville, who passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2006, at â??Just Like Homeâ? assisted living center in Whitesboro, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 2, 2006 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro. Jerry McCorkle (nephew of the deceased), Minister of the Church of Christ in Lindsay, Oklahoma will officiate. The minister will be assisted by Ricky Patterson of Collinsville Church of Christ. Albert was a member of the Collinsville Church of Christ. Visitation will be at Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro, Sunday, October 1, 2006, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Mr. Welch, a life-long farmer, was born October 8, 1916, to George Albert and Minnie Perry Welch on the Welch Family Farm north of Collinsville. Albert married Lela C. McCorkle of Woodbine, Texas, March 2, 1941. She preceded him in death November 1990. Albert married Thelma Carney, of Collinsville, November 16, 1991.

Albert is survived by his wife, Thelma; two sons, Charles Welch and his wife Sharon, of Humble, Texas; Keith Welch and his wife Melba, of Collinsville; two step-sons, Bobby Carney and Danny Carney, of Collinsville. Grandchildren include Tonja Dennis and Travis Welch, both of Humble; Brian Welch, of Collinsville and Greg Welch, of Montana. Step-grandchildren include Benita Robinson, of Krum, Robbie Manthei, of Sanger, Tara Ramsey, of Channelview, and Will Tate, of Denton. Survivors also include numerous great-grandchildren; brothers, John Welch, of Chicago, Robert Welch, of Sherman; sisters Mary Settle and Jean Bullock, both of Whitesboro; sister-in-law, Inez Welch, of Kilgore; and numerous nieces and nephews. Albert was also preceded in death by his parents and brother: Bill Welch, of Kilgore and sisters; Nella Mae Harris, of California and Ann Watson, of Whitesboro.

Albert grew up on the farm and devoted his life to agriculture, utilizing the most modern methods available throughout his life. Son, Keith Welch, continues to operate the family farm, which has been in continuous family operation since 1859.
